Planned PEThood of Georgia is a nonprofit spay, neuter, and rescue organization.
The Planned PEThood website was in need of an update. It had originally been built on the Joomla platform and it was hard to find someone who knew how the platform worked. I hadn't worked with Joomla before, but I'm never one to shy away from something new. I agreed to help keep things up to date on the old site AND build a new one on WordPress.
This was my first WordPress site built from scratch. There was a plugin to import from Joomla, but it didn't import correctly. This basically meant I needed to build the new site from the ground up.
All in all, it took about 8 months to complete the move to WordPress. Once we were ready to go live, I just pointed the domain to the new site and voila! The new site has gotten rave reviews and the Planned PEThood staff are happy with the ease of use on the back end.
"We have been extremely impressed with Sarah's work. She recently helped us replace an old outdated website with a new, fun, and mobile friendly website. Not only is she prompt and receptive to all our ideas, even if they weren't great, but she is knowledgeable and talented. We are so grateful to have found her!"
